Post 108 in Action
Post 108 in Action: A Year of Service, One Pillar at a Time
At The American Legion Post 108, our mission is more than words - it's action. Guided by The American Legion's Four Pillars, we've spent the first half of the year actively serving veterans, children & youth, and our greater community. As we enter the second half of the year, our momentum remains strong, our purpose remains clear, and our impact continues to grow.
Quarter Two: Investing in Children & Youth
In the spring, our attention turned to the next generation. Through scholarships, youth leadership programs, and community outreach events, Post 108 actively supported the children and families of our community. We sponsored local youth for Boys State, provided funding for both the Sea Cadets and Boy Scouts, and held family-friendly activities that brought our community together. Every effort reinforced the belief that investing in youth is investing in the future of our country. Our impact included events that helped expose local youth to remembrance and memorial, community and volunteerism.
Vietnam Veteran Welcome Home Ceremony

Quarter One: Championing Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation
We started the year with a firm commitment to our veterans - those who have served and now deserve our continued support. In Quarter One, Post 108 focused on Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation by offering new and innovative programs for our members and community. In addition to assisting veterans in navigating VA benefits, providing emotional and spiritual support, and fundraising for members in need, we hosted outreach events to engage more veterans within our membership and community.
The Optimize Your Life Workshop
Our friend and supporter, Lori Hudspeth, with Fired Up and Fearless, Breakthrough Coaching, hosted an exclusive workshop to help veterans and their families identify obstacles in their lives and how to overcome them. This inward-looking experience enabled us to set tangible goals, accompanied by an action plan that promised real success.
Four Chaplains Ceremony
We gathered once again for the Annual Four Chaplains Ceremony, which featured a live-action reading of the events of February 3rd, 1943, when the SS Dorchester sank in one of the worst sea disasters of World War II. This annual ceremony provides an opportunity for us to come together to remember heroes from our past.

This incredible event enabled the introduction of the healing powers of firewalking to our leadership and the leadership of our partner organizations throughout the area.

Quarter Three: Focusing on National Security
As we step into Quarter Three, our focus shifts to National Security - not just in terms of defense, but in building resilient communities. We are coordinating with local emergency services, educating our members on preparedness, and supporting our active-duty military and their families. From blood drives to disaster response initiatives, Post 108 is prepared to serve.
