Wreaths Across America Day 2025 – After Action Report
Help to make sure all Lutz Cemetery veterans have a wreath in 2026
Lutz Cemetery is honored to have 221 Veterans interred on its grounds, and we want to ensure all of our Veterans are acknowledged with a wreath at the 2026 event. You can sponsor a wreath for just $17.
WAA at Lutz Cemetery
The 2025 Wreaths Across America Event at Lutz Cemetery was a huge success. Thanks to the generous wreath sponsorships from The Sons Squadron 108 and many others, all veterans interred at Lutz Cemetery were honored with a Wreath. More than 130 volunteers placed each wreath with care and respect.
Volunteers
The day began before sunrise with a visit from Fox 13 - Tampa, who interviewed Toni Hedstrom, Lutz Cemetery Operations Manager; Don Hinst, Post 108 Commander; and Josh Porthouse, Event Keynote Speaker. Youth Volunteers from The Sea Cadets - American Victory Division, Boy Scouts - Troop 366, Cub Scouts - Pack 0366, Sunlake High School Civil Air Patrol, and the Jr. Patriots all participated in a youth service project to prepare the cemetery for wreath placement. The project included map reading, flag placement, headstone clearing/cleaning, and more.
GrowLife Church from Land O'Lakes, along with the Land O'Lakes Starbucks location, hosted the event's Hot Chocolate and Coffee Bar. Mission BBQ chose Lutz Cemetery as the recipient of the annual Wreaths Across America Hero's Cup Program, which helps sponsor wreaths for the event.

To honor and thank our 130+ volunteers, Lutz Cemetery and The American Legion Post 108 has issued these thank you certificates. It is such an honor and joy to work with our community's youth on important projects like this one.
