Post 108's Annual 911 Community Memorial Placement Event

9/11 Memorial Tribute - Honoring Lives Lost

Hosted by The American Legion Post 108

Every year in September, The American Legion Post 108 leads the community in a solemn and powerful tribute to those we lost in the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This annual 9/11 Memorial Event serves as a living remembrance and a call for unity, reflection, and service.

At the heart of this memorial is a breathtaking and humbling display: 2977 placards, each bearing the name of a life lost on that day, are carefully laid out in the shape of a giant American Flag - a powerful symbol of unity, loss, and resilience.

The event is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to walk through the memorial, reflect and remember.

Join Us in Service

Creating the tribute requires many helping hands, and volunteers are urgently needed. Whether you're an individual, a family, a school group, or an organization, your support is welcome.

Help Lay the Flag

Join us in placing each placard with care and purpose. This is a profound way to connect with the history and meaning of 9/11. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Learn and Serve Tampa Inc., has prepared a qualified lesson plan to accompany a class service learning project and field trip to the memorial site.

Be Part of the Remembrance

This is more than a display - it's a community coming together to honor the fallen, support one another, and pass on the legacy of remembrance to future generations.

The event includes a fair with local service organizations, supportive businesses, food trucks, music, and more.

We are actively seeking community sponsors to help support this important annual event. Sponsorship funds assist with materials, signage, grounds setup, storage, and outreach.

Sponsoring this memorial is a meaningful way for businesses, civic organizations, and individuals to show their support for remembrance, patriotism, and unity.
